Overview
After breakfast, prepare yourself for a day trip to the picturesque coastal town of Essaouira located on the Atlantic Ocean. Overlooking a scattering of wave-ravaged offshore islands, Essaouira was founded in 1760 on the site of a 7th century B.C. Phoenician settlement. The old town and port, encircled by 18th century battlements, offers a sandy beach stretching for miles to the south, while richly forested hills extend to the east.
The city was declared as human heritage site by UNESCO in 2001. During your tour discover the genius work like elegant marquetry–woodwork inlaid with mother-of-pearl and other materials.
The city lives in coherence; Artists, fishermen, farmers, craftsman all live peacefully in this enchanted coastal town. On the way , before arriving to the city of Essaouira stop at an Argan Oil cooperative to learn about the making of the oil that is used in cosmetics products and cooking.
Upon arrival discover the medina with its fishing port famous about the capture of sardines and walk through the medina and admire the architecture conciling between Arabo- Berbere and European architecture shop in the souks with their colourful array of wares before returning to Marrakech.
